it is amazing that HGTV was able to make it all come together. Even though the real house was nothing like the sound set, there were certain similarites between both that made the whole thing possible....the raised foyer that stepped down lower into the living area most notable. Nothing would have been possible if those two weren't the same.
Its absolutely incredible that they made the actual house look like the sets used in the show.
