More Lazy Social Media

The uncreative, lazy Kelly has a new edition!
Imagine being a person with this little interest, or capability.  Kinda fascinating.
YouTube has Kelly's account on watch which is great news, but in the meantime, check out my archives over on the page -- There is some cool stuff!

If you view the video, all the images of the empty set were done by overlapping screenshots, to exclude the actors in the frame. You can usually see the cut, or an off center line if you look close. Things like "Bug" or "Mannix" episodes were bought on eBay and just scanned through.  Sifting through all those Mannix episodes isn't easy if you're not a Mannix fan! A screenshot would then be taken from there.

Recycled Brady Set Decorations

After the Brady Bunch was cancelled, "Happy Days" borrowed this print from The Brady Girls bedroom from Paramount storage.

Also, thanks to Bachu, who pointed out the dresser Richie is sitting on looks like its been painted, but is the same exact one between Marcia and Jan's bed.

The Bradys Had Messy Rooms In The Beginning

Before the Bradys became the sanitized, generic family we loved, it looks like the producers tried to have the set look like six kids really did live there. This attempt at reality didn't last long. The Bradys were almost cancelled after their first 13 episodes, and when they returned, the family room and the kids bedrooms were as squeaky clean as The Bradys themselves.

The Horse in 1960s Interior Design

It appears to me the iconic Brady Bunch horse is an accidental hero in Brady lore.
Though the Mike Brady home design was ultra 70s, cool and hip, when it was built in 1969, it was filled with old fashioned stock 1950s and 1960s furniture and design, including the large horse.
(More on this in a future post)
I think the big guy by the stairs was another indifferent piece in Paramount storage, but he had the good fortune of being placed front and center, by a staircase, and a set design and a cast, that would soon make it iconic.

Many other 1950s and 1960s shows used versions of this equestrian theme in all forms of set decoration.
