Greg is crushed, and near tears, and he runs up to his room… and sits cross legged on his brother’s bed? This must be a director’s dilemma. At a time like this, a boy would never go sit on his brother’s bed, yet that makes for better, faster shot.
I never had a brother. If I did I certainly wouldnt sit on his bed with dirty sneakers on. I am sure it was done that way because of framing the shot.It wouldnt have looked nearly as impressive if Greg sat lower,on his bed, with their backs to the camera. I always thought this was a very significant scene, between a father and son.How Greg "grows up" ,with his father lovingly waiting and helping.
