The Bewitched House in Santa Monica, Ca.

This house in Santa Monica, used in 1959 in Gidget with Sandra Dee, was duplicated on The Warner Bros Ranch in 1962.

Bewitched Exterior on WB Ranch, 1960s

It is a an exact copy, though they built it as a mirror image of the real house, with the bay windows on the right.

Real Santa Monica house today.

  1. Hmmm.
Didnt know it was based on a real house.Thats cool.
Its nice to know the original is still out there.
Still cant believe they bulldozed the Warner lot.
I will never get over it.

  2. Nice pics, Johnny. I watched a documentary about this a couple years back, and they said if you notice, there was no "fourth wall" on the show. At least downstairs. They filmed rooms from every angle. I'd love to see the inside of the real one!

  3. Yes ,they did go to great lenghts to film every angle of the Bewitched house.Must have involved alot of moving sets around and redressing.Other shows did it occasionally. I would bet the interior of the real house matches the sets pretty closely.Bewitched was one of those tv houses that appeared to match the interior with how the exterior looked.
Leave it to Beaver was I think the most accurate match.Brady Bunch was certainly not one of them. All in the Family was another one that was way off.
