Recycled Brady Set Decor

Before moving permanently into the Bradys home in 1969, these stock Paramount set decorations were used in a 1965 episode of "My Three Sons". It was filmed at Desilu/Paramount for its first seven seasons before moving to CBS/Radford in Studio City.

Later, it was used in this 1968 episode of "Mission: Impossible"

  1. Even though it was considered the epitome of 1970's decor, all of the props on the Brady set were from at least the late 1960's and earlier. I'm wondering what, if anything, was bought new for the Brady set in 1969? I'd say maybe the living room sofa, the family room daybeds, possibly the Burke tulip set in the kitchen, although it was probably the same set that appeared in the 1968 pilot that was later painted green and upholstered orange. Since all the furniture and accessories looked to be a hodge podge of stuff gathered from a prop house, and much of it has been spotted in previous Paramount productions, maybe nothing was purchased exclusively for the Bradys. Any thoughts, Johnny?

  2. Oh yeah, I'll bet the Avocado side by side refrigerator-freezer was a new prop just for the Bradys. It was pretty much state of the art for the time.
