If the Bradys went Indie, they'd be a lot more respected in the music industry. Not only would they have a chance to be themselves, but the fact that some of them could play instruments (I know Mike and Barry could play) would make them worthwhile as serious musicians. They were constantly trying to be someone they're not, hence why they didn't get as big as The Osmonds and the Partridge Family.
If I existed back in the day, and was a close friend of the group, I'd direct them to The Velvet Underground's albums and the Proto-Punk scene to encourage them to not feel restrained and just be whoever they want with the fearlessness of those bands. A Punk Rock Brady singing group would be a far cry from songs like "Time to Change", but those songs weren't as good, so that would technically be a great thing.
What musical direction would you rather have had the Bradys take?
