Recycled Brady Set Decorations

Before moving permanently into the Bradys home in 1969, this stock Paramount set decoration was used in a 1964 episode of "My Three Sons" (with guest star Sebastian Cabot) .

"My Three Sons" was filmed at Desilu/Paramount for its first seven seasons before moving to CBS/Radford in Studio City.

  1. I saw this particular ep today on The Brady Brunch. I think it was the only time the den was shot from this angle from the wall with the curtained window beside Mike's drawing table by disattaching it from the set, thus making it the fourth wall.

  2. I'm wondering if ANY of the Brady's props were obtained specifically for the Brady Bunch. MAYBE the Burke Tulip dining set in the kitchen and MAYBE the plaid daybeds in the family room. Maybe the side by side avocado refrigerator because it was very new at the time and fit right into the cabinetry opening on the kitchen set. The rest of their stuff was a hodge podge of mismatched odds and ends that were most likely picked out of the prop house. You've even shown some of them's appearances on prior Paramount sets.

  3. The fourth wall is seen quite a few episodes. It is always visable fom the living area when in shot. You see it when Marcia is writing her letter about Mike being father of the year. Also, when Peter is telling jokes to Alice with Carol and Mike behind him. I hated it when they used the curtained window as the fourth wall as it was a fourth wall that was always on the set.
