DVD Transfer Aspect Ratio

The top image was taken from a TV set in the 1980s. The bottom photo is a DVD screen cap. It is an interesting look at how different the framing is in the transfer from the original 16mm to DVD.
Because the two ladies on the left are not shown in the top, it indicates usage of "pan and scan" when video transferring. Or, perhaps the top photo was an imperfect print that varied from the original before it was sent to local TV stations.  I do not know.  I DO know the top photo is a great glimpse at the Brady set.  This was taken at the very end of the series, perhaps the set was starting to have seen better days. There is exposed lumber on the brick steps, and the line where the carpet ends and sound stage floor begins is visible.

Alice's Ridiculous Stage Direction

Alice, using a pot holder, takes a hot cookie tray out of the oven.
With the other hand, she then picks up the hot cookies, bare-handed.
And places them directly from the oven into the cookie jar.
Then offers one to Charlie who gladly takes one from the hot cookie sheet.
She then just leaves it on the table, and walks away.
