Interesting publicity photo from "Brace Yourself". He only wears braces at the end of the episode, where they are in the living room, in different costumes. And, of course, they were never in Marcia's bedroom together!
She is wearing this in the opening scenes of the episode, in the girls' bedroom, so it looks like they filmed the beginning and the end on the same day when he was there.

Obviously fake braces,because they vanished the very next episode.
Very likely they filmed all the Alan scens the same day.
Oh,I understand that on stage 5 at Paramount,where all the interiors were filmed,the bedrooms were all on the same level,behind where the front door was.There was never anything at the top of the stairs other than a small platform.
